FAQS
Common questions about self-esteem focused therapy:
-
In the initial sessions we will focus on information gathering, understanding how your mental health is affecting your self-esteem, building self awareness, coping skills and establishing goals. We will use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help challenge negative beliefs and unhelpful thought patterns that are decreasing self-esteem. We will also employ Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to start to grow self compassion, and increase the ability to use mindfulness to increase self-esteem and self-love.
-
The length of counseling services is different for everyone. We will work together to build a therapy plan that works for you. Generally, clients start with psychotherapy services weekly or bi-weekly for 6 to 12 months.
